Children of Men

Saw "Children of Men" yesterday. I can't remember the last time I saw a science fiction movie that hit so depressingly close to home.

The premise of the movie is that its 2038, and no one has been able to have children for 18 years.

With no visible future, the world is falling apart, and modern science cannot do anything to solve the problem.

Not surprisingly from this description the original book was religious in its tone and message.

After seeing "An Inconvenient Truth" and then being immersed in this fictional reality, it becomes very hard to ignore the direction our world could be heading.

On the news today I saw a story that seemed especially important having just seen this film.

Consumption of trans-fats have been linked to infertility in women. It shouldn't come as any surprise that food that is created in a laboratory may have unseen consequences.

So, lets not allow the government to lead us down the wrong path, I certainly don't want to turn sixty in the world of "Children of Men."

Organic, kind of

Americans eat and send off (prepared and seeds of) genetically modified foods all the time, and even the American standards applied to label foods organic are watered down. Given all this and what you lay out, I probably won't sleep tonight. Thanks for taking the time to expose and inform, though.

Take care.
