Saving Energy While Searching

Ever think about how much time you spend at www.google.com?

A blogger over at Ecoiron decided to do the math and figure out how much energy was being used on a given day by people searching.

The interesting thing is that a black background uses considerably less energy than a white background. It should come as no surprise that several people have hacked Google to let you use a black background. My favorite is www.ninja.com. So now you can help save the planet a tiny bit every time you search.

File this under urban legends

Well it seems I was totally wrong about this one - read this response from Google

But I still think ninja.com is cool...
